When we started out in 2012 the first thing we did was plant loads of perennials. That first year we got in 600 strawberry plants, 150 raspberries/black raspberries, 150 asparagus, and lots of fruit trees, flowers and herbs. Luckily the land was already loaded with mature apple, black walnut, cherry and chestnut trees. Together those perennial foods have provided us with a consistent bounty of fruits and nuts when growing along side our annual vegetable gardens.
